Santo Domingo.- The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP) together with the Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA) and the Logistics Cluster of the Dominican Republic, will initiate a training process for International Logistics Agents, aimed at strengthening the human capital that is dedicated to the distribution of cargo to other destinations in the world.
The general director of INFOTEP, Rafael Santos Badía, also announced the relaunch of the Dual Training program developed by the institution together with AZODONA in ports and airports, as well as in companies that are dedicated to cargo classification and distribution.
Santos Badía offered these statements in the framework of a working meeting held, together with INFOTEP executives, with representatives of ADOZONA and the Logistics Cluster of the Dominican Republic, in which the bases of new collaboration agreements between the three entities.
José Manuel Torres, executive vice president of ADOZONA, indicated that the main objective of the Logistics Cluster is to train its personnel in order to have human capital with the technical levels required to promote this subsector of the economy.
Torres indicated that the intention is to turn the Dominican Republic into a regional hub for global manufacturing and processes.
“We must be prepared since, at this time, the international scene presents us with a great opportunity with the relocation of investments. This has an impact on greater investment for the country and, consequently, more jobs would be generated, ”Torres explained.
For his part, Jhonatan Báez, general coordinator of the Logistics Cluster of the Dominican Republic, expressed his satisfaction with the results of the meeting and expressed his commitment to the formation of human capital and the generation of jobs.
The general director of INFOTEP instructed the creation of a work and monitoring commission to define the needs and the action plan that will be carried out to strengthen professional technical training for these collaborators.
Also present at the meeting were, for INFOTEP, Maira Morla Deputy Director General and Ondina Marte, Manager of Strategic Planning and Institutional Intelligence.
